Point 33 Ether
video installation. 2000
passage on negotiating a sense of dislocation the writing manifests itself – only to alter, shift and change.
Projected onto a net tent, the video unfolds as a shifting palimpsest. The text of the palimpsest talks of the dislocation experienced when I re-visited my childhood home in Baroda, India, which had been re-furbished and locked up.
Taking the 32 points of a compass that point outward and in different directions, I present “point 33” as pointing in the direction within us.
